We welcome you to Harrison Primary School in Fareham’s website. Please take some time to discover what our school is about. Our Head teacher gives you her own personal welcome and an invitation to explore what makes our school tick. A site map has direct links to all pages contained in this site.
Harrison School is a friendly, caring, family community, committed to achievement and sharing in the successes of each individual. Our aim is to ensure that all of our pupils achieve their full potential and as a result we have high expectations of our children in all aspects of their development. A copy of the most recent Ofsted report prepared as a result of an inspection of our school in March 2010 is available.
You can see some of the recent projects that we have been doing in and around the school. Find out about our new radio station and work on the school grounds.
Harrison Primary school was built in 1930 as a secondary school and is situated close to the centre of Fareham. It was converted to a primary school in 1978. The building has been adapted and developed for primary aged children and to meet the needs of children with physical disabilities. Children are aged from 4 to 11 years. The school is arranged into 7 year groups, each containing 3 classes of approximately 28 children and has 65 teaching staff; 25 teaching staff and 40 ancillary staff.
Our school welcomes people with disabilities that require wheelchair access.
Visits are welcome from parents considering applying for a place at our school either on the annual Open Day in September, or by appointment through the school office. The Head teacher is the day to day manager of the school.
Parents play a vital role in the life of Harrison. We work in partnership with you in order to provide the very best we can for the children. We believe your child’s progress will benefit if there is a close liaison between home and school.
A number of parents and friends of the school also help in the school on a regular basis. We welcome parents, grandparents and friends of the school to work with us. If you have any spare time and would like to volunteer in any capacity to help please let us know.
The children are proud of their school, which offers to them every opportunity to achieve high standards and take an active role in maintaining and caring for their school environment.
